Control panel rebuild — obsolete relays to new PLC
A tired relay-logic panel rebuilt around a new Siemens PLC — obsolete parts out, loomed wiring in, drives and safety circuits brought up to standard.
The job.
Decades of undocumented additions had produced a control panel nobody could fault-find — obsolete relays, unlabelled wiring, and a machine the business depends on hanging off it. The rebuild moved the whole panel to a Siemens S7-1200 PLC, with every circuit drawn, labelled and documented as it went in.
Fault-finding now takes minutes instead of afternoons, because the wiring tells you where to look and the drawings match what is in the cabinet. The before-and-after pair from this job sits on our homepage — we are that pleased with it.
What we did.
- Existing panel surveyed and circuits traced
- New PLC and safety relay platform
- Inverter drives for the motor circuits
- Every core loomed, ferruled and labelled
- Drawings produced to match the finished panel
